Purdue Research Foundation Receives International Economic Development Award

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.--(Business Wire)--
Officials from an international economic development organization presented a
top award to the Purdue Research Foundation during a conference that was
recently held in Reno, Nev. 

The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) announced that the Purdue
Research Foundation received a 2009 IEDC Excellence in Economic Development
Award in the category of Regionalism and Cross-border Collaboration. 

"The IEDC is one of the pre-eminent international organizations in economic
development, and we are greatly honored to receive this award," said Joseph B.
Hornett, Purdue Research Foundation senior vice president, treasurer and COO.
"This honor recognizes the quality of work done by the Purdue Research
Foundation in supporting new and expanding companies, advancing the mission of
Purdue University, and stimulating the Indiana economy." 

The International Economic Development Council is the largest professional
association of economic development practitioners in the world, with members in
the United States, Europe, Australia, Canada and New Zealand. 

The Purdue Research Foundation received IEDC awards in three categories in 2008:
Entrepreneurship, Partnerships with Educational Institutions, and
Technology-Based Economic Development.
