Journalists from The Record and Herald News to Start Providing Editorial
Content to Verizon's FiOS1 New Jersey
Reporters, Editors, Columnists and Photographers to Make Regular Contributions
to Local Content Channel Not Found on Cable TV

NEWARK, N.J. and WOODLAND PARK, N.J., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon's FiOS1
New Jersey, the local content channel that's not found on cable TV, is getting
new sources of news, commentary and more. Journalists from The Record, the
Herald News and other North Jersey Media Group publications will make regular
appearances on FiOS1 New Jersey, Verizon and North Jersey Media Group
announced Thursday (Oct. 8).

Starting Sunday (Oct. 11), reporters, columnists, editors and others from The
Record and other associated publications will begin providing news, features
and commentary for FiOS1, found on Channel 1 on the Verizon FiOS network. The
journalists will add insight and expertise while delivering relevant news to
viewers in North Jersey. A mini-studio, which is being set up in The Record's
newsroom, will enable The Record's editorial staff to provide up-to-the-minute
reports and commentary. The studio will also provide a unique window into the
newsroom, enabling viewers to watch journalists at work.

"The marriage of television and our news operation will provide yet another
way North Jerseyans can get the latest information and have their favorite
writers explain it to them in a way they haven't experienced before," said
Frank Scandale, editor of The Record. "It's a natural extension of what we do
every day, and will complement our print and online offerings."

Michelle Webb, general manager and chief programming officer, Verizon FiOS1,
said, "We're looking forward to having journalists from The Record, and other
reporters from its organization, play an integral role in our FiOS1
programming. This partnership will bring viewers another team of experienced
reporters and photographers who aim to give New Jerseyans cutting-edge news,
events and commentary as it unfolds in the state. This collaboration benefits
our viewership immeasurably."

Verizon has FiOS1 channels for New Jersey, Long Island and the metropolitan
Washington, D.C., area. The channels bring to viewers with Verizon FiOS
hyper-local content that includes news, regular traffic and weather reports.
The channels also offer a vast array of high school and collegiate sports and
bring viewers programming tied directly to the communities where it is
offered.
