McAfee Employees to Teach Kids About Cyber Safety, "H*Commerce" Documentary to
Air on Television and Expertise Provided to International Spy Museum Exhibit
SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
McAfee, Inc. (NYSE:MFE) today announced its support of the 2009 National Cyber
Security Awareness Month. The company will launch a Cybersecurity for Kids
teaching program, broadcast the "H*Commerce: The Business of Hacking You"
documentary and participate in the "Weapons of Mass Distribution" gallery at the
International Spy Museum in Washington D.C. These efforts are part of the McAfee
Initiative to Fight Cybercrime.

Organized by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), National Cyber
Security Awareness Month is an intensive awareness campaign reaching out to
consumers, small businesses, educators, children and other stakeholders in order
to raise awareness about the importance of computer security and to educate
individuals about practices and technologies they can use to protect themselves
online.

"Cybersecurity education is an important issue no matter the time of year," said
Dave DeWalt, president and chief executive officer, McAfee. "Cybercrime is
rapidly growing. McAfee Labs reports a new piece of malware is now introduced on
average every 30 seconds. Given this increasing trend, we are pleased to help
teach about online safety."

"Our digital culture is rapidly advancing; however only five states currently
have curriculums around cyber safety," said Michael Kaiser, executive director,
NCSA. "It is important to bring Cyber Safety and Cyber Ethics education to
schools around the country. We are excited to have McAfee`s support in this
program."

Partnering with the NCSA Cybersecurity Awareness Volunteer Education Project
(C-SAVE), McAfee employees from Santa Clara, Calif; Plano, Texas; Beaverton,
Ore; and St. Paul, Minn. will educate local K-12 students about how to be safe
online. Over 100 McAfee employees have volunteered to teach students in their
local community as part of this pilot program.
