Aberdeen Group Study Shows Meru Networks End-Users Gain Significant Advantages;
Exceed Best-in-Class Performance Compared to Industry Average WLAN Customers
SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
Meru Networks, Inc., the pioneer in 802.11n enterprise networking, today
announced that Aberdeen Group, a respected market research firm, has found that
Meru customers report the highest level of end-user satisfaction ratings based
on the results of the firm`s recently-released Analyst Insight Report. The
results are a testament to Meru`s long-standing dedication to customer value by
providing the most innovative, high performance enterprise wireless networking
solutions.

The Aberdeen study, which involved interviews with 326 organizations, reveals
that Meru`s enterprise customers, on average, gain significant performance
advantages over all other WLAN users, often exceeding performance levels defined
as Best-In-Class, the top-performing 20 percent of survey respondents. According
to Aberdeen`s report, Meru`s strength is attributed in large part to pervasive
customer adoption of 802.11n products. Meru believes that this, combined with
the benefits of using Meru`s patented Air Traffic ControlTM technology,
addresses the problems of deploying legacy WLAN architectures on a large scale
and provides a simple, wired-like experience for mobile employees, that is easy
to deploy and manage, eliminating the complexities often associated with legacy
large-scale WLAN deployments.

"One approach to identifying the advantages of a particular Wireless LAN system
is to determine whether consistent performance advantages accrue to the
end-users of that system as compared to the performance of all end-users -
perhaps more telling is the level of end-user satisfaction, as compared to all
other users," said Andrew Borg, senior research analyst, Aberdeen Group. "As a
result of recent Aberdeen Group survey data, end-users of Meru Networks were
determined on average to have a significant performance advantage over all other
end-users on average."

According to Aberdeen methodology, customers surveyed in this report include
candidates across the firm`s maturity classes: Best-in-Class; the top 20 percent
of users that exhibit the best and significantly higher performance than the
average user, Industry Average; the middle 50 percent that are considered to
result in average industry performance, and Laggard; the bottom 30 percent of
end-users that are significantly behind the average performance. Aberdeen
measurement across these various class capabilities helps to determine the
relative performance of all respondents as compared to the norm. Meru Networks
customers exceeded the Best-in-Class capabilities in many categories, including
the use of WiFi 802.11n, with a 62 percent adoption rate. Key adoption drivers
included the need to improve network capacity to support additional users and
the desire to improve the quality of wireless applications like Voice over IP
(VoIP). As the recently-ratified 802.11n standard opens up new application and
use-case opportunities, the results would indicate that Meru`s users are already
ahead of the curve.

"Our customers are our number one priority and as their needs change, we`re
dedicated to scale to support their changing requirements and making their lives
as easy as possible," said, Rachna Ahlawat, vice president of Marketing, Meru
Networks. "Meru was founded in 2002 on the principle of creating standards-based
wireless networks for enterprises that could be deployed pervasively, scale to
thousands of mobile users, and do so without headaches that are so common with
typical wireless networks. Since then we`ve continuously built on that
principle, so it`s especially pleasing to see the Aberdeen Group satisfaction
report validate our efforts."

Meru Networks combines 802.11n and Wireless LAN Virtualization to offer the
speed, scalability and simplicity that organizations expect from Ethernet. With
Meru, applications written for a wired network perform flawlessly over wireless
thanks to the Meru Virtual Port technology, which replicates all the benefits of
switched Ethernet but adds mobility and flexibility. It can also expand the
scope of the network, reaching new devices that offer wireless as their only
connectivity option.
