Indian shares rise 0.5 pct; Reliance gains

MUMBAI Oct 12 (Reuters) - Indian shares rose half a percent early on Monday, with energy giant Reliance industries (RELI.BO) climbing more than 1 percent on patch-up hopes between the warring Ambani brothers.

At 9:57 a.m. (0427 GMT), the 30-share BSE index .BSESN was up 0.5 percent at 16,725.41 points, with 19 components advancing.

Energy giant Reliance Industries, which has the heaviest in the index, was up 1.4 percent at 2,130 rupees Anil Ambani on Sunday called for a renewed effort to end a bitter feud with his elder brother Mukesh. [ID:nLB202058]
