Thai stocks likely to rise on inflows, firm energy shares
BANGKOK, Oct 12 (Reuters) - Thai stocks are expected to edge higher on Monday, supported by foreign inflows and overseas strength after Wall Street hit a closing high for the year.
Energy shares .SETEN, buoyed firmer oil prices, are likely to rise along with electronics companies .SETEC and other exporters on hopes of global economic turnaround, traders said.
"We see a wave of fund inflows continuously. It is possible the index will pass through resistance of 750 points today," said Asia Plus Securities analyst Therdsak Taveeteeratham. He sees support at 740.
Te benchmark SET index .SETI ended Friday at 746.87, its highest in 15 months and up 0.38 percent on the day.
Foreign investors bought a net 7.82 billion baht ($235 million) of Thai shares over the past four days, raising net inflows this year to 65 billion baht ($1.95 billion).
