In the 1990s Heritage came up with a way to reclaim copper from etchants used
to produce printed circuit boards for computers and other electronics and
established Micronutrients (www.micro.net) for this purpose. Through the
process, a fresh etchant is recovered and returned to the manufacturer while
Tri Basic Copper Chloride, TBCC, a basic nutrient used in the feed of 35% of
chickens, swine, turkeys, dairy cows and beef cattle raised in the U.S. as
well as a growing number of animals in China, is produced. By producing TBCC,
Micronutrients creates a win/win situation in which everyone benefits in the
manufacturing process. . .Micronutrients as a business, the electronics
manufacturers, the farmers and the environment.
