Obama hails Senate panel approval on healthcare
WASHINGTON |
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama on Tuesday hailed a key Senate committee's endorsement of sweeping healthcare overhaul as a "critical milestone" toward passing a reform package through Congress.
Obama, speaking in the White House Rose Garden after the Democratic-controlled Senate Finance Committee approved the measure, also said it would rein in the worst practices of insurance companies.
