Mentor Graphics to buy Valor for $82 million

TEL AVIV Oct 13 (Reuters) - U.S. chip-design software maker Mentor Graphics Corp (MENT.O) said on Tuesday it was to buy Israel's Valor Computerized Systems Ltd VACS.DE for an agreed $82 million.
Valor shareholders will receive a combination of Mentor Graphics shares and cash in the deal, which is worth $4.60 per Valor share.
Shareholders owning about 50 percent of of Valor have committed to vote in favor of the transaction which was expected to close during the first quarter of 2010.
Valor, which is traded in Frankfurt, provides software solutions for makers of printed circuit boards. It has development centres in Israel, Finland and Denmark.
Mentor Graphics specialises in electronic design automation, helping companies to develop electronic products. (Reporting by Tova Cohen; Editing by Dan Lalor)
