Norway's Aladdin says signs Russia gas deal

MOSCOW Oct 14 (Reuters) - Norway's Aladdin Oil and Gas Company AOGC.NFF has signed a five-year contract to supply gas from a field in Russia's Komi republic to a subsidiary of state-run Gazprom (GAZP.MM), the company said in a statement.

Aladdin said it would supply 125,000 cubic metres of gas per day from its Middle Sediolskaya licence to KomiRegionGaz throughout the rest of 2009. Offtake volumes will be adjusted on a quarterly basis.

"This is a giant step towards becoming a serious independent oil and gas producer in Russia," Aladdin Managing Director Pal Nedrelid said in the statement.

Aladdin, headquartered in Oslo, developed its first gas field in Russia at the Middle Sediolskaya licence in the Komi republic. Through Russian subsidiaries, it also holds other licences in the Timan-Pechora region of northwest Russia and the Orenburg region east of the Volga.
