2009 La Jolla Festival of the Arts Raises Over $200,000 for Local Disabled
Charities!

LA JOLLA, Calif., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The La Jolla Festival of the Arts,
produced by the Torrey Pines Kiwanis Foundation, celebrated its 23rd
anniversary in June with excellent results. More than 8,500 people attended
the two-day event, despite unfavorable weather and heavy local competition. As
a result, over $200,000 was raised to support programs for the disabled
community of San Diego.

"We were thrilled that the Festival continued its run as one of the longest
running and premiere art Festivals on the west coast," said Ronn Rohe, 2009
Festival Chair. "Through careful artist selection, a growing chalk art
section, a solid entertainment line-up, and an expanding food court, our
visitors were able to enjoy an event that is really second to none here in San
Diego," Rohe concluded.

The La Jolla Festival of the Arts is now entering its third decade, having
started as a small fundraiser for the Torrey Pines Kiwanis Club. The once
small Festival has now blossomed into a much-anticipated regional event that
raises tens of thousands of dollars for disabled persons throughout San Diego.
The Festival has raised well over $1 million dollars since its inception in
1987.

Spanning a dozen art disciplines, nearly 200 of the finest artists from around
the nation, with a special inclusion this year from Mexico's top emerging
artists, showcased their work at this year's Festival. Event attendees also
enjoyed a variety of cuisines in the Festival food area, experienced
incredible chalk paintings and listened to live entertainment.

The 2009 Festival was sponsored in part by Time Warner Cable, Grand Pacific
Resort, Mind & Body Partnerships, eLiveLife.com, San Diego Business Journal,
Ability Center, Club Cohiba, San Diego Home/Garden Magazine, San Diego
Firefighters, San Diego County Credit Union, La Jolla Light, Sequoia Solar,
Coldwell Banker, Ford, UCSD Shiley Eye Center, La Jolla Village News,
Westfield UTC and TLC Laser Eye Center.
