Indian shares provisionally end up 1.2 pct

MUMBAI Oct 14 (Reuters) - Indian shares provisionally closed 1.2 percent higher on Wednesday after a hitting a 17-month high, led by gains in financial stocks on improving economic outlook.

The 30-share BSE index .BSESN provisionally ended up 207 points at 17,233.67 with 24 components gaining.

The 50-share NSE index .NSEI provisionally closed up 1.3 percent at 5,120.20 points. (Reporting by Ami Shah)
