LG Display CFO expects more moderate downturn

SEOUL Oct 15 (Reuters) - Flat-screen maker LG Display Co Ltd (034220.KS) (LPL.N) predicted on Thursday a seasonal slowdown from late 2009 would be more moderate than other years due to tight inventories and the likelihood of industry output cuts.

"The oversupply this time will likely be less severe in depth than in the past years," Chief Financial Officer James Jeong told an investor meeting.

TV set makers are keeping inventories light while the weakest players in the panel industry could lower their factory utilisation during the slow season, he added. (Reporting by Rhee So-eui; Editing by Jonathan Hopfner)
