Japan govt: JAL restructuring plan on track

TOKYO Oct 16 (Reuters) - Japan's Transport Minister Seiji Maehara said on Friday that work on a draft restructuring plan for Japan Airlines Corp 9205.T (JAL) was progressing smoothly.

He also told a news conference that there was no change in the government's stance of making sure that Japan Airlines flights' would continue.

The struggling airline has asked its creditors for a total of 600 billion yen in financial aid including 300 billion yen in debt waivers as part of a restructuring plan.[ID:nT343964]

JAL's shares fell 10 percent in morning trade. (Reporting by Nobuhiro Kubo)
