FRYEBURG, Maine, Oct. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- At the 2009 Fryeburg Fair, concluded
on October 11, Poland Spring won the Larry Kiesman Award for Best Educational
Display. Fryeburg Fair President Roy Andrews, along with the fair's Board of
Trustees, presented the award at the fairgrounds.

The award recognizes Poland Spring for presenting the best educational booth
in the fair's Natural Resources Pavilion. According to Poland Spring Natural
Resource Manager, Mark Dubois, this year's display includes information on the
responsible use of one of Maine's most abundant natural resources, water.
"Poland Spring is committed to giving back in the communities where we live
and work. We taught Fryeburg Fair visitors about spring source monitoring and
regulation, clean water education and the spring water bottling process. Our
booth was staffed daily by many of the nearly 800 full-time and seasonal
employees of Poland Spring."

Dubois continued, "Poland Spring is dedicated to protecting Maine's
environment. One of the ways that we can achieve this is by teaching the next
generation. Our trout display is part of our efforts to promote Maine
aquaculture and watershed education, here at the fair and throughout the year
in Maine schools."

This year's Poland Spring booth displays live rainbow trout raised on spring
water at the Poland Spring Dead River Hatchery in Pierce Pond Township, Maine.
During each school year, Poland Spring staff works in Maine schools to raise
"Trout in the Classroom." This educational tool teaches Maine children about
the importance of clean water by raising and studying trout in their
classrooms and then stocking local water bodies such as the Saco River. Poland
Spring supports a number of environmental education efforts in Maine such as
providing major funding to the Gulf of Maine Research Institute, enabling
middle school children from every community in Maine to travel to Portland to
learn about natural resources in the Gulf of Maine.

Members of the Larry Kiesman family, including brothers Gerald and Leonard,
attended the granting of the award at this 159th year of the Fryeburg Fair.
