Thai Airways says to raise fund via share issue in 2010

BANGKOK Oct 19 (Reuters) - Thai Airways International THAI.BK plans a share issue next year to raise funds for repaying short-term debt, its newly-appoited President Piyasvasti Amranand said on Monday.

"We need to raise capital because we have a lot of short-term debt to be repaid," he told a news conference. He did not say how much money the national airline has to raise. (Reporting by Manunphattr Dhanananphorn; Writing by Khettiya Jittapong; Editing by Jason Szep)
