ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Eighteen Taliban militants and two Pakistani soldiers have been killed in the past 24 hours of an offensive aimed at eliminating the militants' bastion in the South Waziristan region, the army said on Monday.

The offensive [ID:nSP467556] was launched early on Saturday and an army spokesman said government forces were making progress.
