LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Following are the top 10 films at the North American box office for the three-day weekend beginning on October 16, led by the new release "Where the Wild Things Are," according to studio estimates compiled on Sunday by Reuters.

"Law Abiding Citizen" was released by Overture Films, a unit of Liberty Media Corp.

"Couples Retreat" was released by Universal Pictures, a unit of General Electric Co.

"Zombieland" and "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" were released by Columbia Pictures. "The Stepfather" was released by Screen Gems, a unit of Sony Corp.

"Paranormal Activity" was released by Paramount Pictures, a unit of Viacom Inc.

"Toy Story/Toy Story 2" was released by Walt Disney Pictures, and "Surrogates" by Touchstone Pictures, both units of Walt Disney Co.

"Whip It" was released by 20th Century Fox, a unit of News Corp.
