Australia's Foster's says Q1 performance in line
MELBOURNE |
MELBOURNE Oct 21 (Reuters) - Foster's Group Ltd FGL.AX, Australia's biggest brewer, traded in line with expectations in its first quarter, adjusted for currency impacts, the company said on Wednesday.
The company's results last year were helped by a weaker Australian dollar, but this year it is likely to be hit by the currency's sharp rise against the U.S. dollar.
Analysts on average are forecasting 5 percent profit growth to A$765 million ($704 million) for the year to June 2010, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S. ($1=1.086 Australian Dollar) (Reporting by Sonali Paul; Editing by Mark Bendeich)
