JOHANNESBURG, Oct 23 (Reuters) - South African industrial products importer Hudaco Industries (HDCJ.J) expects to report 20-30 percent decline in full-year profit as recession force clients to scale back on spending.

The company said on Friday headline earnings per share -- which was at 964 cents last year and is the main profit gauge in South Africa -- was hit by the stronger rand and difficult trading conditions.

Turnover for the year to end-November was forecast to slide by 15 percent on the 2.8 billion rand ($376.9 million) reported last year, the company said adding stock levels would have been managed down by about 100 million rand over the year.
