Babelgum Launches New Exclusive Sci-Fi/Horror Block on its Web and Mobile
Comedy Channels

LONDON and NEW YORK, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Independent web and mobile video
content platform Babelgum has just announced a new Sci-Fi/Horror block of
programming for its expanding Comedy Channel. The new comedy block includes
the initial premiere of four new series that have been created and produced
exclusively for Babelgum's mobile and online distribution.

Included in the Sci-Fi/Horror Comedy Block is the new series The Occulterers,
an interactive comedy and horror series written/produced/co-starring Hayden
Black (Goodnight Burbank, The Cabonauts) and starring James C. Leary (Buffy
the Vampire Slayer), Ellen Sandweiss (The Evil Dead), Amy Kline (I <3
Vampires) and Camden Toy (Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel) as Count Vampire.
An interactive series, The Occulterers is the nation's premiere ghost-hunting
team and will kick off this new season in a genuine Transylvanian castle.
Viewers can also watch live feeds from the castle, and Tweet the Occulterer
team what they see or hear @theocculterers. While filming, the team will react
to the messages and occasionally name-check their favorites. In addition,
there will be a Vampire flashmob streamed live in partnership with
dreadcentral.com on Halloween in Los Angeles at Mexico (8512 Santa Monica Blvd
at La Cienega) along the annual Weho Parade route at 6:17pm and another at
10pm at the Art of Elysium fundraiser at the W Hotel in Westwood. More
information will be available via the Occulterers twitter feed.

Also to come is the absurdist sci-fi comedy series Hurtling Through Space at
an Alarming Rate!, created by and starring Michael Davies (Streamy Award
nominated webseries 'After Judgment') and Stuart Paap (thestream.tv). In the
tradition of Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, the series
follows the adventures of two contentious, golf and game-obsessed, popculture
buffs (Mike and Stuart) who are trapped in their apartment as it's literally
hurtling through space at an alarming rate!

Also in the pipeline is the zombie-loving upcoming series Cannibal Run, based
on the outlawed and unofficial cross country automobile race in the 70s; and
also the recently announced second season of the sci-fi comedy The Crew
created by RegisteredFilms.

"We're expanding our Smart Comedy offerings each week with funny,
professionally-produced content and I'm very excited to finally be announcing
these incredible Sci-Fi/Horror series," said Amber J. Lawson, Publisher of
Babelgum's Comedy Channel. "These programs are all exclusively created for our
web and mobile platforms to appeal to the Sci-Fi/Horror fan in all of us, and
fall under our goal of bringing smart comedy to our viewers. I feel
Sci-Fi/Horror comedy is an under-served and rabid audience, and my idea was to
give that audience what they want." Babelgum's comedy channel is strategically
programmed and curated by Lawson with the target audience of smart viewers who
seek evolved comedy.
