New AltaMed Cypress Adult Day Health Care Center to Provide Vital Resources
for Growing Senior Population
Orange County Latino and Asian Senior Populations Show Dramatic and Continuous
Growth Furthering the Need for Specialized Services in the Area

What: AltaMed Health Services Corporation, elected officials and
community leaders will celebrate the grand opening of its Adult
Day Health Care (ADHC) center in Cypress. The center is
designed to provide adults 18 years and older support to
maintain or enhance their medical, functional or mental status
through health and human services. The services offered at the
center include nursing care, individual counseling, nutritional
meals, physical, occupational and speech therapies,
recreational activities, transportation to and from the center,
emotional support for caregivers, health education classes and
community resources. AltaMed's ADHC facilities provide quality
care that enables adults to reach their maximum potential of
independence and provide family caregivers with the support
they need to ensure their loved ones make the most of their
              golden years.

The expansion of AltaMed into Orange County speaks to the
growing need for community resources, services and benefits of
ADHC centers in the population. During 2000 to 2009 in Orange
County, the Latino senior population grew by 79% while the
Asian senior population grew by 60%. Both populations are
expected to grow an additional 31% and 30% respectively by
2014. A report by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation reveals
that the country would require 5,415 new ADHC centers to
address the demands of an aging population.
