PCT International Introduces New Generation of Coaxial Cable; 'Triton' Brand
Enables Easy Installs, Breakthrough Performance

TEMPE, Ariz., Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- PCT International, a leading worldwide
manufacturer of last mile and access network solutions for broadband
communications networks, today announced the first significant coaxial drop
cable innovation in more than 10 years

At the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers Cable-Tec Expo, the cable
industry's leading technology show, PCT International today unveiled its
patent-pending "Triton" design that simplifies installation; increases network
integrity service quality; and extends the ability of the cable to maintain
peak performance standards over its service life.

Created to combine the advantages of various existing proven cable
architectures, the Triton cable incorporates innovative construction
techniques, including a new foil design. The resulting cable maintains the
physical profile and ease of installation of smaller diameter cables, while
providing the protection against noise and signal loss that characterize
larger cable construction.

The Triton design is available in standard, tri-shield and quad-shield
configurations. PCT International is demonstrating the Triton cable at its
booth (#13089) at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo next month in Denver.

"In the industry's zeal to create a faster, more flexible network
architecture, it's often easy to overlook the coaxial cable itself," said
Steve Youtsey, president and CEO of PCT International. "PCT International's
philosophy has been that every part of the cable infrastructure contributes to
overall network integrity, and no individual element can be taken for granted.
This philosophy is the cornerstone of our 'hardening-the-drop' solution, our
product designs and our innovations. Triton cable is emblematic of our
dedication to innovate in every area to provide our customers with the best
possible network performance."

"With the increase in advanced services like DOCSISĀ® 3.0 and HDTV, ensuring
that subscribers receive the best possible signal is more important than
ever," said Steve Craddock, a senior technical advisor who will join PCT
International as CTO in January. "Triton has been uniquely designed to
deliver the superior performance consumers desire, while providing operators
with longer service life and a more efficient installation that saves time and
minimizes misconnections."

A key part of PCT International's tap-to-set top box solution for "hardening
the drop," Triton cable is designed for extended use in harsh environments.
In testing conducted by PCT International, the additional foil layer has
provided a 20dB improvement in preventing signal egress after 10,000 flexes
when compared to competitors' cables.

Like all PCT International coaxial designs, Triton cable features dry,
anti-corrosion technology; low-loss physical foam HDPE dielectric for superior
electrical performance; and the ability to withstand temperatures as low as
minus-40 Celsius. In addition, Triton cable jackets maintain the same
industry-leading UV stability that is characteristic of PCT International
cable designs.
