S&P's says no pressure on Greece's rating for now

ATHENS Oct 29 (Reuters) - Standard and Poor's sees no pressure on its A- rating for Greece, an analyst at the rating agency told Reuters on Thursday after Moody's placed Greece's A1 rating on review for a possible downgrade.

"We currently have a stable outlook, so there is no pressure on the rating," said Marko Mrsnik, an associate director at Standard & Poor's. "Any future development on the rating will hinge on the government's plan regarding budgetary consolidation and its implementation."

Standard & Poor's cut Greece's sovereign rating one notch to A- in January with a stable outlook, citing a loss in economic competitiveness due to high wage inflation and the persistently high budget deficit. (Reporting by Ingrid Melander; Editing by Andy Bruce)
