LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, Oct 29 (MARKET WIRE) --
Greenlight, the UK's leading independent search marketing agency, has
released new research determining the most visible online gaming websites
on page 1 of Google natural search results. The research ranks some 1000
individual websites by analysing data gathered throughout March 2009.
Using the most common gaming keywords relating to casino, poker and
bingo, the report shows that over 1.6 million searches are made on
average per month in the UK.
Of the 1.6 million searches conducted, only 12 sites achieved more than a
10% share of visibility. meccabingo.co.uk is the best positioned website
overall within the gaming sector with 61% reach. The most popular area of
online gaming is poker, taking up 743,000 of the total average monthly
searches, followed by bingo with 584,000 and casino with 274,000 searches.
Findings revealed the most visible website for poker-related searches as
Wikipedia.org with 64% visibility. This is followed by partypoker.com
which is visible for 58% of searches. The keyword 'poker' accounts for
40% of all poker-related search terms alone. Some non-gaming websites
such as Wikipedia and YouTube gain considerable visibility due to site
credibility and depth of content, therefore improving their Google
rankings.
The best performing bingo website is foxybingo.com achieving 100%
visibility, followed by dreambingo.co.uk and meccabingo.com which reach
99% and 98% respectively. Here, the term 'bingo' accounts for 52% of
monthly searches. With an estimated click through rate of 10% and an
estimated conversion rate of 2%, top sites could be netting an additional
1100 players per month through search alone. Furthermore, despite Gala
Bingo's huge offline presence, it is only visible to 10% of new players
searching for an online bingo site. In addition, nine of the top 20 sites
are affiliates, with Bingo-Reviewer the highest on the table.
The casino website that reaches most Google users is 888.com which is
also visible for 100% of searches. It is followed by spinpalace.com with
95% of users reached and williamhillcasino.com with 87%.
