Rex Ballard to Lead SAIC's Commercial Business Unit

Senior Executive to Focus on Global Energy and Life Sciences Solutions and
Integration Services
MCLEAN, Va. and SAN DIEGO, Oct. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Science
Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) today announced that
Rex Ballard has been appointed general manager for SAIC's Commercial Business
Services Business Unit effective immediately. A long-time SAIC executive,
Ballard has served as acting business unit general manager since July.
The business unit provides global energy and life sciences solutions and
integration services. It has more than 3,050 employees based in the United
States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, and Italy, who perform
work in more than 100 countries.
Ballard has been with SAIC for almost 21 years serving in a variety of
executive positions. Most recently he was senior vice president of operations
responsible for the oversight of all aspects of solution development and
global service delivery for a $500 million information technology (IT)
services and outsourcing organization. In that role, he led a team of 1,800
professionals in delivering critical IT services to SAIC customers in the
energy, life sciences, and state and local government sectors.
Prior to joining SAIC, Ballard held leadership positions with Cubic
Corporation, a San Diego-based provider of equipment and solutions for the
defense industry and the transportation market.
