Nation's Most Reliable Wireless Network Keeps Customers on Time When Daylight
Savings Time Ends

BASKING RIDGE, N.J., Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Daylight Savings Time (DST)* ends
and Daylight Standard Time starts at 2 a.m. Sunday. When that happens,
Verizon Wireless customers won't have to reset their devices manually.
Devices on the Verizon Wireless network will automatically turn clocks back
one hour when the hour strikes.

Verizon Wireless uses the GPS system developed by the U.S. Department of
Defense that references a Master Clock at the U.S. Naval Observatory in
Washington, D.C., for mobile synchronization of phones on the company's
network. Verizon Wireless cell sites have GPS receivers that ensure the time
on customers' phones is accurate to within 10 microseconds.

PDA customers who have elected to set their time to a specific zone and not
display the time from the network are reminded that they will need to change
the time on their devices to reflect the time change. They can either manually
change the time on the PDA or follow the instructions from the manufacturer or
operating systems provider.

Verizon Wireless continually invests in its network to provide customers with
a superior wireless experience. The company invests $5.5 billion on average
every year to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and
to add new services, and the company has invested more than $50 billion since
it was formed in 2000.

*Arizona, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam and American Samoa are
the only places in the United States that do not observe Daylight Savings Time
but instead stay on Daylight Standard Time all year long. Verizon Wireless
customers in Arizona and Hawaii stay on standard time based primarily on the
cell site coverage area.
