American National Declares Quarterly Dividend

GALVESTON, Texas, Oct. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American National
Insurance Company's (Nasdaq: ANAT) board of directors declared a quarterly
dividend of 77 cents per share on its common stock, CUSIP #028591-105, payable
December 18, 2009 to shareholders of record as of the close of business on
December 4, 2009.  This is the 99th consecutive year that dividends have been
paid to stockholders.
