XBRL US National Conference, Nov. 17-18, to Feature XBRL Reporting Essentials
for Financial Executives

WASHINGTON, Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- XBRL US, the nonprofit consortium for XML
business reporting, announced that its national conference, "XBRL Financial
Reporting: Advancing Transparency, Transforming the Dialogue" to be held on
November 17-18, 2009 at the Marriott Marquis in New York City, will include a
special educational track called "XBRL Essentials". This five-session program
will be taught by CPAs, professors and accounting professionals who have
worked directly on the US GAAP Taxonomy project with XBRL US. Coursework is
designed for senior level financial executives at public companies who need an
understanding of what their staff must implement to comply with the XBRL
reporting mandate from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
"These instructors have an intimate understanding of the framework and
structure of the US GAAP Taxonomy," said Campbell Pryde, Chief Standards

The timing of the sessions is designed so that attendees can also hear the
keynote speeches at the conference which will be given by senior
representatives from the SEC, Financial Executives International (FEI), the
National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI), the Financial Industry
Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and the CFA Institute Centre for Financial
Market Integrity and the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC).
XBRL Essentials attendees also have the option to go to panel sessions taking
place at the conference. Topics include:
