Audible.com Launches Unique 16-Author Collaboration for Thriller Fans around the
World
NEWARK, N.J.--(Business Wire)--
Audible Inc., a leading provider of premium digital audio and an Amazon.com Inc.
subsidiary (NASDAQ:AMZN), today announced the launch of "The Copper Bracelet," a
new thriller created exclusively for digital audio. A collaboration of 16
leading thriller writers, including Jeffery Deaver, Lee Child, Lisa Scottoline
and Joseph Finder, "The Copper Bracelet" is the sequel to "The Chopin
Manuscript," which was honored by the Audio Publishers Association as its 2007
Audiobook of the Year. The audio production also features narration by Alfred
Molina, who brought "The Chopin Manuscript" to life, and has starred in numerous
films, including "The Da Vinci Code" and "Spider-Man 2." "The Copper Bracelet"
is available today, only at www.audible.com, www.audible.co.uk and the iTunes
Store.

"We were thrilled when `The Chopin Manuscript The Chopin Manuscript won
Audiobook of the Year, so you can imagine our excitement when so many of the
authors wanted to work together again. The returning writers and new
participants have pooled their talent to write a really tight adventure.
Thriller fans are going to love listening to it!" said Beth Anderson, Executive
Vice President and Publisher, Audible Inc.

"I can't think of a more enjoyable writing experience in my 25 years of being a
fiction author than writing `The Copper Bracelet` and its predecessor, `The
Chopin Manuscript.` We writers spend way too much time by ourselves in dark
rooms, and it was a delight to emerge from the cave and hang out, so to speak,
with my peers," said Deaver, author of numerous New York Times bestsellers,
including "Roadside Crosses" and "The Bone Collector."

"The Copper Bracelet" again features former war crimes investigator Harold
Middleton and his team of "Volunteers" as they face a secretive conspiracy that
not only threatens their lives, but the stability of the world. As with "The
Chopin Manuscript," "The Copper Bracelet" is an original novel written in serial
fashion. Deaver wrote the opening chapter, and then passed it to Gayle Lynds
("The Coil," "Masquerade"), who wrote Chapter 2. After 14 more authors each
wrote a chapter in turn, the manuscript returned to Deaver to write the
explosive conclusion.

"This was like playing on an all-star team, and all the hits were home runs ...
we were really up for it," added Lee Child, whose New York Times bestsellers
include "Gone Tomorrow" and "Nothing to Lose."

"The Copper Bracelet" was created as a co-production with International Thriller
Writers Inc., a leading organization of professional writers whose mission is to
bestow recognition on and promote the thriller genre. The Audible-ITW
relationship began with "The Chopin Manuscript," the breakthrough work that was
the first original thriller created exclusively for audio. Along with being
named Audiobook of the Year, "The Chopin Manuscript" was selected as one of The
Best Audiobooks of 2007 by AudioFile magazine.

"The Copper Bracelet" was written by Jeffery Deaver, Gayle Lynds, David Hewson,
Jim Fusilli, John Gilstrap, Joseph Finder, Lisa Scottoline, David Corbett, Linda
Barnes, Jenny Siler, David Liss, P.J. Parrish, Brett Battles, Lee Child, Jon
Land and James Phelan. Audible.com`s Steve Feldberg served as executive
producer. Jim Fusilli was project editor.

PRAISE FOR THE COPPER BRACELET

"A feast for the senses, `The Copper Bracelet` continues the standard of
excellence established by `The Chopin Manuscript.` Action, intrigue, suspense,
they are all there. Another certified no-question-about-it-winner from a
remarkable collection of talent. Bravo." - Steve Berry, author of "The Paris
Vendetta"
