Kenya Power surges after full-year profit jumps

NAIROBI Oct 29 (Reuters) - Shares in Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC.NR) rose 12 percent on Thursday after its full-year pretax profit leapt 75 percent for the period ended June. [ID:nLT172509]

At 0845 GMT, its shares were changing hands at 140 shillings ($1.86) up from Wednesday's close of 125 shillings and traders said there was a bid at 145 shillings. (Reporting by Duncan Miriri; Editing by David Clarke)
