US STOCKS SNAPSHOT-Futures jump after GDP, initial claims data

NEW YORK Oct 29 (Reuters) - U.S. stock index futures jumped on Thursday after data showed the U.S. economy grew in the third quarter for the first time in a year and the number of U.S workers filing for jobless benefits edged lower.

* S&P 500 futures SPc1 rose 8.30 points and were above fair value, a formula that evaluates pricing by taking into account interest rates, dividends and time to expiration on the contract. Dow Jones industrial average futures DJc1 gained 59 points, while Nasdaq futures NDc1 added 12.00 points. (Reporting by Chuck Mikolajczak; Editing by Padraic Cassidy)
