Ukraine cbank says has dlrs for Russian gas bills

KIEV Oct 30 (Reuters) - Ukraine's central bank has enough foreign currency reserves for state energy firm Naftogaz to pay its Russian gas bills, the institution said on Friday after Moscow warned there could be problems with payments.

"The central bank has enough reserves should Naftogaz -- or even the government -- enter the foreign currency market and satisfy their demand for dollars to pay for gas contracts," a central bank spokesman told Reuters.

"The central bank sees no reason behind the statements made by the Russian side," he said. Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko was obstructing the work between the central bank and the government.
