MIAMI Oct 30 (Reuters) - A U.S. former client of UBS AG (UBSN.VX) received a lenient, three-month prison sentence on Friday because he helped a high-profile U.S. probe of wealthy Americans who used the Swiss bank to hide money overseas.

Jeffrey Chernick, 70, was sentenced by a federal court judge in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

On Wednesday, another former U.S. customer of UBS received a one-year house arrest sentence and a fine after he had also collaborated in the U.S. case against the bank. (Writing by Tom Brown; Editing by Pascal Fletcher)
