Spain's ACS wants electric car tie-up-paper

MADRID Nov 2 (Reuters) - Spanish builder ACS (ACS.MC) is negotiating a tie-up with carmaker Seat to develop technology and infrastructure for electric cars, Expansion reported, citing unnamed sources close to Seat's owner Volkswagen (VOWG.DE).

ACS, whose Cobra subsidiary is one of Spain's leading energy distributors, estimates 8 billion euros will be needed over the next six years to build the necessary infrastructure for electric vehicles to be used on a widespread scale. The builder wants to gain experience and knowlege under the industry ministry's Cenit Verde programme to support the launch of electric cars, Expansion reported.

No one at ACS was immediately available for comment.
