Projjix`s New Online Consulting Marketplace Radically Shifts the Way Companies
Find and Engage Top Business and Technology Consultants
IRVINE, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
Projjix, an Irvine-based startup, today announced the beta launch of Projjix.com
- The Consulting Marketplace. Projjix`s mission is to create a new paradigm
shift in how Fortune 500/1000 companies find and engage consultants. Projjix
helps companies realize significant cost savings by giving them direct access to
experienced consultants via a low-cost and efficient online marketplace.
Consultants can also benefit from lower pay rate markups, which translate into
greater earnings potential. Currently, a high percentage of consultants`
billings through Big 4 and other similar consulting firms helps pay for high
overhead, including sales and management salaries, expensive office space and
other perks.

According to a U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics study on Contingent and
Alternative Employment Arrangements, 8 percent of the workforce is already
listed as either Independent Contractors or as Contractors provided by a
contract firm. This percentage is expected to continue to grow. The same study
found that 82 percent of these variable workers preferred their work arrangement
to a traditional job and this percentage is expected to grow as well.

"We all acknowledge that the world has changed and that companies are struggling
to adapt. Traditional employment models are proving too rigid to keep up with
the accelerating pace of change. In addition, highly skilled and experienced
workers are leaving traditional jobs in record numbers to become independent
consultants," said Jim Hazboun, CEO and founder of Projjix. "The data is
compelling. We believe that economic conditions are accelerating this trend and
that Projjix is uniquely positioned to capitalize on this monumental shift as
demand for consultants and project workers continues to increase now and well
beyond the economic recovery."

Through Projjix, companies enjoy free direct access to a wide variety of
business and technology consultants, most of whom are alumni of major consulting
firms or Fortune 1000 companies and available in local, nationwide and global
markets. Projjix also offers a vast array of searching options. They can go
directly to the site to search for consultants and/or post projects.
Alternatively, companies may choose to take advantage of Projjix`s free service,
which includes searching for consultants, posting projects, screening and
presenting top consultant bids to the client.

According to George Villagran, a staffing manager for J2 Global Communications,
which provides outsourced, value-added messaging and communication services to
more than 3,300 cities and 46 countries on six continents, Projjix offers large
companies, like J2, an attractive alternative to traditional consulting and
project-based firms.

"It's every company's goal to engage the highest quality consultants at the
lowest possible cost. The Projjix Marketplace allows us to maximize our project
budget by spending less for high quality consultants," said Villagran. "It`s
truly an efficient and cost effective alternative to traditional consulting and
project-based firms. We get big firm quality without the big firm markups.
Bottom line: Projjix is definitely a game-changer!"

Top consultants are drawn to Projjix because they gain greater independence,
free and direct access to a variety of projects and companies, full business
support services and an opportunity to significantly increase their earnings
potential.

Douglas Sietsema, a Big 4 consulting alumnus with more than 20 years of
experience, recently joined Projjix. Sietsema states, "There are many highly
skilled consultants that feel they have only two career options: to either work
for a consulting firm or work full-time for a company. Projjix offers us an
attractive alternative. By leveraging Projjix`s marketplace and business support
services, consultants gain access to a broader marketplace of clients and
projects and thus significantly improve their chance of succeeding as
independents."

The large number of consultants who are already Projjix members represent
impressive demographics:

* Vast majority are alumni of Big 4, large consulting firms and Fortune 1000
companies.
* Top Industries represented include: high tech; electronics; consumer products;
financial services; telecom; healthcare; aerospace/defense;
engineering/construction; energy; entertainment and pharmaceuticals.
* Top project experience includes: IT (ERP, transformation); cost reduction;
change management; project management; business process improvement (BPR, Lean &
Six Sigma); regulatory compliance; mergers & acquisitions; human capital
management; supply chain management and interim management.
* Top systems experience includes: SAP; Oracle; Peoplesoft; Cognos; SAS; Accpac;
Computer Associates; Epicor; Siebel; Lawson; SAS and Hyperion.

When a company needs specific consulting expertise that may be underrepresented
in the Projjix marketplace, Projjix responds quickly to ensure that consultants
with the right skills and expertise become available to the client. Sahar
Shamoun, VP of Talent for Projjix, explains, "Input from our clients is very
important to ensure that the marketplace meets their current and anticipated
needs. Our marketplace is meant to map to the needs of our clients, and thus it
will continue to evolve and grow based on our collaboration with them."

Projjix is not a job board. Rather, it`s the first consulting marketplace where
companies and consultants can connect and transact directly. Most of the
connections between companies and consultants are facilitated without a public
job posting. Projjix helps companies discreetly search for consultants and to
review their detailed consulting profiles. Companies may invite specific
consultants, or all qualified members, to bid on a project. Projjix streamlines
the selection process by scoring bids based on specific criteria, resulting in a
short list of qualified consultants. At that point, a company may elect to
interview the consultant on the phone, in-person or utilize Projjix`s efficient
virtual interview tool. Once a company makes a decision on a consultant, they
can engage the consultant through the online marketplace.

Projjix offers a performance-based pricing model that is straightforward and
transparent. Once a company hires a consultant for a project, Projjix simply
assesses a small markup (among the lowest in the industry) to the consultant`s
pay rate. Company and consultant memberships are free and there are no hidden
fees. Projjix also handles all of the related timekeeping, billing, and payroll
on the consultant`s behalf for no additional charge.

Companies and consultants are invited to join the Projjix Marketplace for free.
