TIAA-CREF Names Kevin Nazworth Vice President, Head of Health Care Segment

NEW YORK--(Business Wire)-- TIAA-CREF today announced the appointment of Kevin Nazworth as Vice President, and Head of the organization`s Health Care Segment. In this newly created position Mr. Nazworth will be responsible for overseeing and developing new institutional business, positioning TIAA-CREF as a leading retirement plan provider for the nation`s hospitals and their employees. He is based in Charlotte and reports to Bertram Scott, Executive Vice President and Chief Institutional Development & Sales Officer. Mr. Nazworth joins TIAA-CREF from Valic, where he was most recently Executive Vice President, Group Management & National Markets. In that role, he was responsible for institutional group relationship management, consultant relations, association marketing and the health care market. "Kevin is an industry veteran with a deep understanding of the unique challenges employers and employees in the health care market face," said Bertram Scott. "His leadership, combined with TIAA-CREF`s approach to retirement, will advance the building of retirement security for workers in this important segment of our economy." Mr. Nazworth held a series of successively senior positions over a twenty-six year career with Valic. Prior to serving as Executive Vice President, Group Management & National Markets he led Valic`s health care retirement segment for four years. From 2000 until 2004, he focused on developing and serving the 403(b), 457 and 401(k) retirement markets in local and regional markets. He began his career as a financial advisor and is a Certified Financial Planner. Mr. Nazworth graduated from the University of Florida.
