Trend Micro offers flexible security solutions wherever Citrix NetScaler is
deployed - from large enterprise datacenters to public cloud centers.

CUPERTINO, Calif., Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Trend Micro, a global leader in
Internet content security and a member of the Citrix Ready(TM) Open Networking
Program, announced that its Web and Messaging security virtual appliance
solutions support Citrix® NetScaler® VPX(TM), the industry's only leading
application delivery and load balancing solution that is available as a
virtual appliance.

Trend Micro(TM) InterScan(TM) Web Security and Trend Micro(TM) Messaging
Security gateway solutions are designed to provide an effective, highly
scalable and optimized solution against emerging Web and email-borne threats.
Both are available as software virtual appliances for corporations that want
to reduce costs, increase IT flexibility, simplify deployment and upgrades and
promote business continuity. They combine a hardened operating system and
application stack that can run optimally on industry standard "bare-metal"
hardware, or in a virtual machine.

NetScaler VPX scales both solutions by providing load balancing and cache
redirection services as well as integrated caching and consolidated logging
services. This is especially important within a threat landscape where
Internet-based threats are constantly evolving and compromised Web site and
URLs are often obscure and short-lived. The integrated cache on the NetScaler
VPX allows for caching of the responses to provide faster response times. In
addition, the consolidated logging feature can be used to generate access logs
for all Web requests.

"With the Citrix Ready Open Networking Program, Citrix and its partners are
delivering powerful virtual networking solutions," said Sunil Potti, vice
president of product management and marketing, NetScaler product group, Citrix
Systems. "We are very excited that Trend Micro, a recognized security leader,
has joined and that together we can deliver a fully tested, fully virtualized
solution combining our market-leading NetScaler web application delivery
solution with Trend Micro's web and messaging security solution."

"Citrix Netscaler VPX, in conjunction with Trend Micro Interscan Web Security
and Interscan Messaging Security gateway solutions, provides a flexible,
scalable architecture that can grow with traffic and application needs," said
John Maddison, vice president, Trend Micro. "By supporting virtual
environments, dynamic and public cloud datacenters, the combination of both
solutions will considerably reduce operational costs. In addition, the Trend
Micro(TM) Smart Protection Network(TM) cloud-client infrastructure provides
customers of these solutions optimal online security."
