ARLINGTON, Va., Nov. 2 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Republican
Trust PAC's Executive Director, Scott Wheeler, released the following
statement in response to Dede Scozzafava's withdrawal from the NY-23 special
congressional election and subsequent endorsement of the liberal Democrat
candidate:

"Scozzafava's critics were vindicated yesterday when she endorsed the liberal
Democrat in the race, Bill Owens. We knew she would be a Democrat when she
went to Congress and now those beliefs have been validated by Scozzafava
herself with that endorsement.

"Scozzafava's endorsement of the establishment candidate over the candidate
that the people have shown overwhelming support for was predictable. She is
completely out of touch with the District, which is the very reason Hoffman is
winning this race. She just didn't get it, people are tired of politics as
usual.

"We appreciate that the RNC and NRCC have realized the importance of all of us
being on the same page in support of principled conservative candidates...and
we are asking the NRSC to realize it should do the same with respect to Marco
Rubio in Florida's U.S. Senate race. We are asking NRSC to publicly announce
it will remain neutral in the Florida Senate GOP primary...."
