HARRISBURG, Pa., Nov. 2 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Secretary of the
Commonwealth Pedro A. Cortes today encouraged Pennsylvanians to vote in the
Nov. 3 municipal and judicial election, and reminded them of the resources
available online at VOTESPA.com.

"Voting is your opportunity to help shape the direction of daily life in your
hometown, your county and Pennsylvania as a whole," Cortes said. "The freedom
to vote has been fought for and protected by generations of patriotic
Americans. I hope that each eligible resident takes advantage of this hard-won
privilege tomorrow to build a better commonwealth."

Voters will cast ballots in the municipal election for a variety of local
races, as well as for candidates seeking Supreme Court, Superior Court, Court
of Common Pleas and municipal court seats.

The Department of State's online voter information center at VOTESPA.com
includes tips for first-time voters and members of the armed services, and
instructions on how to cast a ballot. VOTESPA.com allows voters to obtain
directions to their polling place from any location and to check their voter
registration.

Videos with step-by-step instructions on the voting systems used in each
county are available online, as well as links to each county board of
elections.

State law requires that Pennsylvanians who are voting for the first time - or
for the first time in a new precinct - must present an approved form of photo
or non-photo identification. Forms of approved identification include a
Pennsylvania driver's license, student or government-issued identification, as
well as current bank statements or utility bills. A complete list is available
at VOTESPA.com.

For more information on voter registration, call the Department of State's
toll-free hotline at 1-877-VOTESPA (1-877-868-3772), or visit VOTESPA.com.
