GARTMORE IRISH GROWTH FUND PLC                         

                              Ordinary 25p shares                              

The Company announces that it purchased in the market on 30 October 2009 40,026
Ordinary 25p Shares at a price of 631.02 pence per share for cancellation.

Following this transaction the number of shares in issue is 7,681,927 none of
which are held in Treasury.
