Carolyn Searls, SGH Senior Principal, will lead a workshop on architectural
ceramics and their use and repair in historic buildings at the APT Conference in
Los Angeles on November 2. Susan Knack-Brown, SGH Senior Project Manager and
CeCe Louie, SGH Senior Staff II - Building Technology are co-coordinators of the
program. The two-day workshop brings together experts on diverse topics such as
the processes used to manufacture, diagnose and repair terra cotta and clay tile
roofing, and conservation of glazed tiles. The workshop will also include two
hands-on demonstrations on fixings for architectural terra-cotta, and patching
and coating architectural ceramics. Speakers include:
