Telefonica to pay around 1 bln euros for HanseNet-paper

MADRID Nov 2 (Reuters) - Spain's Telefonica (TEF.MC) will close a deal within days to buy German broadband operator HanseNet from Telecom Italia (TLIT.MI) for between 900 million euros ($1.33 billion) and 1 billion euros, El Economista reported on Monday, citing sources close to the deal.

On Friday, Europe's largest operator told reporters in Seville it was in the final stages of closing a purchase, with analysts estimating a sale price of between 1 billion euros to 1.5 billion euros. [ID:nLU298698] ($1=.6746 Euro) (Reporting by Sarah Morris; editing by Simon Jessop)
