UPDATE 1-Comfort Systems Q3 profit beats estimates

Nov 3 (Reuters) - Comfort Systems USA Inc (FIX.N), a provider of heating, ventilation and air conditioning services, posted a better-than-expected quarterly profit, helped by bookings in smaller projects and service work.
For the third quarter, the company reported net income of $9.5 million, or 25 cents a share, compared with $13.8 million, or 34 cents a share, a year ago.
Revenue fell 16 percent to $291.6 million.
Analysts on average expected the company to earn 23 cents a share, before special items, on revenue of $292.8 million, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
"We will continue to invest in new and existing operations and we believe that over the coming months we can add new businesses in attractive geographies," Chief Executive Bill Murdy said.
