-- The signing of a free trade agreement-like deal between Taiwan and China will not be delayed even after China postpones related consultations, said the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
-- Lien Chan, honourary chairman of Taiwan's ruling Nationalist Party, will represent the island at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum this month and aims to establish a new APEC climate centre.

-- Major lenders in Taiwan said they would not lower mortgage rates any further to help keep housing prices reasonable.
