Voom Technologies' HardCopy 3: The Best Just Got Better . . . Without Added
Cost to Voom's Computer Forensics Customers
Voom offers validation upgrade free to HardCopy 3 (computer forensic
hard-drive duplicator) customers, facilitating inter-agency collaboration and
improving investigative efficiency.

MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- As criminals increasingly use computers to
aid their nefarious activities, investigators need an ever wider variety of
tools to obtain and analyze computer data in order to track, apprehend and
convict wrongdoers. Voom Technologies, Inc., (www.voomtech.com) just released
an improved version of its renowned HardCopy 3 (HC3) forensic hard-drive
duplicator, and has made available this feature upgrade free of charge to its
HC3 customers, worldwide.

Forensic hard-drive duplication requires validation of imaged data via what is
commonly known in the computer forensic industry as "hashing." The HC3 now
includes the traditional MD5 algorithm along with the new standard, SHA256.
As various justice agencies find it necessary to work together, they do not
always share the same standard tools. The HC3 now makes inter-agency
cooperation easier, even when their analysis tools require different
validation standards.

According to Eric Lakes, Digital Forensic Examiner, "Cyber Agents, Inc.,
(www.cyberagentsinc.com) has standardized all our forensic imaging projects
using the Voom HC3, as well as other Voom products. Being able to quickly
clone a drive, place it into the suspect computer, and boot the computer
straight from the cloned drive, while maintaining the chain-of-custody and
forensic soundness of the original drive, allows us to take on multiple cases
and keeps our progress in various examinations moving forward. For instance,
being able to forensically secure 35 computer systems (desktops and laptops)
within a day and a half during normal business hours is fantastic. Not only
does the process save us time, provide a secure way of acquiring media, and
allow us to interact easily with other agencies, but it also saves our clients
a lot of money by providing the utmost investigative efficiency.
High-performance, economical and extremely effective!"

David Biessener, Voom's CEO, pointed out, "Voom has always supported our
customers with feature upgrades, and Voom is unique in that we frequently
provide additional features without charging existing customers. This latest
feature upgrade is now standard on the HC3, and existing HC3 customers receive
this same technology free simply by downloading the firmware upgrade from
Voom's website."

Voom stays ahead of the latest in hard-drive speed technology via the HC3,
with data transfer speeds of up to 7.5 GB/min., creates two forensically-sound
copies of a hard-drive without forensically compromising the source drive, AND
runs either MD5 or SHA256 validation.

Mr. Biessener emphasized that, "Voom focuses on delivering high performance,
easy to use computer technology. With the latest HardCopy 3 enhancement, Voom
continues our commitment to provide law enforcement the latest in computer
forensics tools at an exceptional value."
