Thomson Reuters Clinical Surveillance Solution Offers Powerful New
Functionality to Improve Clinical Quality and Reduce Costs

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Thomson Reuters today announced the
newest release of Clinical Xpert(TM) CareFocus, a leading clinical
surveillance solution that enables hospitals to identify at-risk patients in
real-time and respond immediately to improve clinical quality and reduce total
cost of treatment.

This upgrade is available to current CareFocus customers at no additional
cost.

CareFocus 2.0 contains several powerful enhancements that improve clinical
quality and efficiency. New features include forms capture, e-mail and text
notifications, additional searchable data elements and pre-configured profiles
that target Patient Safety Indicators and Never Events (those events that
never should occur such as serious disability associated with a medication
error).

Forms Capture: With this feature, hospital clinicians can track and document
their interventions with patients at the point-of-care via a mobile device or
Web portal. Centralized, electronic forms allow multiple clinicians to see
the same patient information -- anytime, anywhere. For example, a nurse care
manager, infection control specialist, or pharmacist can view a patient's
forms instantly when they appear on the clinician's auto-generated CareFocus
patient list.

Improved Alerts: CareFocus 2.0 offers improved alerting capability that
notifies clinicians of high-risk patients via email or text message, letting
all relevant clinicians know about critical at-risk patients the moment they
are identified.

Improved Access to Information: This latest release also includes the ability
to query on additional data elements from the Medication Administration
Record, working diagnosis, and active orders display.

Improved Reporting: The new functionality allows hospitals administrators to
run customized summary reports for each forms category, making it easy to
report on clinical activity and associated costs.

"Whether associating cost savings for an intravenous-to-oral medication
conversion in the pharmacy or estimating the cost of successfully preventing
an adverse event such as sepsis, users can quantify the impact of their work,"
said Jill Sutton, vice president of product management for the Healthcare &
Science business of Thomson Reuters. "And hospitals can measure a tangible
return on their IT investment."

CareFocus is part of the Clinical Xpert suite of workflow solutions (formerly
MercuryMD MData) that has been recognized as a KLAS Category Leader for Mobile
Data Systems for seven consecutive years. The Clinical Xpert suite includes
the market-leading CareFocus clinical surveillance solution as well as
offerings that provide easy access to critical patient information at the
point of care, charge and procedure management, care team coordination, and
medication reconciliation.

"With these new features, CareFocus will continue to help hospitals lower
mortality, prevent Never Events, and reduce treatment costs," Sutton said.
