Successful IP and Communications Veteran Joins XConnect to Drive Further

LONDON, Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- XConnect, the global leader in neutral and

today that veteran technology entrepreneur Yuval Shachar has joined its board
of directors.

With nearly 30 years of experience in voice- and data-networking technology,
Shachar led the creation of three innovative Internet companies that were
acquired by Cisco Systems. He served as a general manager in Cisco's service
provider group for five years until earlier this year.

"We're delighted to have Yuval, an inventive and dynamic leader, join our
board," said XConnect CEO and founder Eli Katz. "We win in two ways: He brings
tremendous experience in developing new technology, as well as expertise in
successfully managing the growth of companies similar to ours."

Shachar, who holds several patents in telecommunications, said: "XConnect's
'Interconnect 2.0' approach to enabling end-to-end IP communications is
essential for mass-market adoption of new IP services. I look forward to
helping Eli and his team continue building an interconnection powerhouse."

XConnect operates the largest worldwide ENUM-based IP-peering federation, the
Global Alliance, and the world's first national VoIP and NGN interconnection
federations, in the Netherlands and Korea.

IP-networking companies that Shachar developed, which later were sold to
Cisco, were P-Cube, which specialized in IP service engineering; Pentacom, a
pioneer in Dynamic Packet Transport products; and Infogear, an early developer
of Web appliances.

Shachar also previously led research and development at VocalTec, where he
directed programs resulting in the creation of the first set of VoIP
architectures and products; VocalTec went public on NASDAQ. Earlier in his
career, Shachar held senior positions at National Semiconductor Corporation
and Motorola.

The addition of Shachar to its board follows news that XConnect has been named
one of Light Reading's 2009 "Top Picks" for communications technologies,
services and products, and that the company raised $10 million in Series B
funding from a consortium of investors.
