NETGEAR's 8 x 4 Channel Bonded Cable Gateway Receives DOCSIS 3.0 and
PacketCable 1.5 Certification From CableLabs
High-Speed CG3000 DOCSIS 3.0 Wireless-N Cable Gateway with eMTA Joins Growing
Family of NETGEAR Products for Cable Operators

SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NETGEAR®, Inc. (Nasdaq:
NTGR) a worldwide provider of technologically innovative, branded networking
solutions, today announced that its new CG3000 Wireless-N Voice/Data Cable
Gateway for cable operators received DOCSIS® 3.0 and PacketCable 1.5
certification in CableLabs® Certification Wave 70. While DOCSIS 3.0
specifications require support for at least four bonded channels downstream
and four bonded channels upstream, the CG3000 exceeds the specification with
eight bonded channels downstream. The resulting data rates of up to 320 Mbps
downstream and 120 Mbps upstream enable cable operators to provide
blazing-fast Internet speeds and services that are among the most advanced
offerings available to residential and Small-to Medium-sized Business (SMB)
customers.

"We're very pleased to add this CG3000 DOCSIS 3.0 certification to our product
portfolio. It comes on the heels of a similar achievement for our CG3100
gateway, which achieved certification last month for EuroDOCSIS 3.0 and
EuroPacketCable 1.5 specifications," said David James, director of product
management for NETGEAR. "The CG3000 provides voice service capability combined
with the strategic performance advantage of numerous bonded DOCSIS 3.0
channels, which gives our MSO customers a competitive advantage in Triple Play
service delivery. Achieving this certification is yet another milestone in
innovation for NETGEAR as we continue to expand our product line designed
specifically to serve the cable market."

NETGEAR's certified CG3000 Cable Gateway enables service providers to offer
unprecedented speeds on a Hybrid Fiber Coaxial (HFC) broadband network, as
well as delivering two voice lines. The dynamic CG3000 is future-proof with
Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) and is also backwards compatible with
DOCSIS 2.0 and DOCSIS 1.1 specifications. It supports remote management and
provisioning, simple plug-in installation, and post-installation manageability
with Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). It offers both Gigabit
Ethernet and 802.11n WiFi so users can take full advantage of their high-speed
WAN and LAN connections for enjoying the broadest spectrum of multimedia,
including IP telephony, multimedia conferencing, high performance gaming, file
sharing and backup with NETGEAR Stora and video streaming to PCs, mobile
phones and NETGEAR's family of Digital Entertainer media receivers. Data
sheets, photos and other product details on the CG3000 can be found at:

NETGEAR's CG3000 Wireless-N Voice/Data Cable Gateway joins an expanding family

enable cable operators to deliver advanced Triple Play and triple screen home
networking services to their subscribers. NETGEAR has a complete portfolio of
interoperable residential and SMB Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), enabling
service providers to control the deployment and operation of new services that
increase revenues while reducing installation complexity and follow-up
customer support. More information on NETGEAR's CPE offerings for cable
