NEW YORK, Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Deloitte Consulting LLP, one of the world's
leading strategy, operations, human capital and technology consultancies, has
elected Punit Renjen as its new chairman and chief executive officer in the
United States.
Renjen, a principal, succeeds Douglas J. Lattner, who guided Deloitte
Consulting in the U.S. since 2003. As chairman and CEO, Lattner focused on
growth, talent and diversity, and is credited with leading the successful
re-integration of Deloitte's consulting practices into the broader Deloitte
LLP professional services organization.
"Punit has an outstanding foundation to build upon. He brings extraordinary
skills to our world-class consultancy, as demonstrated by his leadership and
client service accomplishments," said Barry Salzberg, chief executive officer
of Deloitte LLP. "Working alongside the leaders of our audit and risk
advisory, tax, and financial advisory services businesses, I'm confident Punit
will be instrumental in driving Deloitte to be globally recognized for setting
the standard among professional services organizations in client service
excellence and creating an environment where top consulting talent chooses to
be."
As chairman and CEO of Deloitte Consulting LLP, Renjen leads the U.S.
consulting business within the global consultancy represented by the Deloitte
Touche Tohmatsu member firms, which had 2009 combined global consulting
revenues of $6.5 billion and have offices in major cities throughout the
world. Deloitte's U.S. consulting business represents more than half of these
global consulting revenues.
"I am honored to lead the talented professionals of this great consultancy,
particularly at such a challenging time in the marketplace," said Renjen.
"Deloitte Consulting LLP is known for its strategy and execution capabilities;
helping companies transform; helping companies optimize their talent and human
capital strategies; providing innovative technology advisory and
implementation services; and delivering merger and post-merger integration
services. We have established a reputation for presenting insightful yet
pragmatic advice that delivers meaningful results."
Renjen added, "We are on a quest to be the clear market leader and believe
that we are well positioned to meet this goal. We have a track record of
double-digit growth over the past six years, and we significantly expanded and
fortified our presence in strategic sectors, including the federal arena,
through the acquisition of BearingPoint's North American Public Services
practice earlier this year. Our commitment to our people is best reflected in
Deloitte being named 'The Best Place to Launch Your Career' by BusinessWeek
magazine for two years, being named a 'Best Firm to Work for' in 2009 by
Consulting magazine and perennially ranked on Fortune's 'Best Companies to
Work for' list."
Renjen has more than 22 years of experience with Deloitte Consulting. For the
past two years, he served as the global and U.S. leader of Deloitte
Consulting's Strategy & Operations practice, which has maintained a
double-digit share of the global market for strategy advisory work and is
consistently ranked among the top firms in the profession.
He is also a recognized leader in mergers & acquisitions, assisting clients
through the entire M&A lifecycle. Renjen has been involved in numerous and
significant M&A deals over the past 10 years, helping clients expand into new
markets, create new profit streams, and generate cost reductions and savings
synergies. Under his direction, Deloitte Consulting has been recognized in
several leadership rankings by top-tier industry analysts in the areas of
mergers, acquisition, divestitures, post-merger integration, strategy,
operations consulting and business advisory.
Renjen was named one of Consulting magazine's "Top 25 Most Influential
Consultants" in 2007. He holds a bachelor's degree with honors and a master's
degree in management with honors.
He currently serves on the Deloitte LLP board of directors, the Deloitte
Touche Tohmatsu board of directors, and the Deloitte Consulting Executive
Committee. Renjen is a member of the board of trustees of Willamette
University. He and his family reside in Portland, Oregon.
